Based on the age of Rick Mattison’s oldest tractor, the family-run Mattison’s Christmas tree farm has been in operation for at least 35 years. The family started with a variety of trees — pines, spruces, and firs, but according to Rick, “Mother Nature has convinced us to stick with balsam firs, which grow the best here.” Folks head to Mattison’s Christmas Tree Farm to make memories cutting their own tree. Those who don’t want to wield a saw can pick a pre-cut tree off the rack to take home and decorate.

Mattison’s Christmas Tree Farm is open every day from now until Christmas. Trees are $45 and come in a variety of sizes. The farm also does a bustling wholesale business, hauling fresh-cut trees from Vermont to New Jersey, and making trees available to local nonprofit organizations for fundraising purposes.
