Geannelis Tree Farm: Bennington, Vermont

Geannelis Tree Farm in Bennington is a small family Christmas tree farm that is known for its selection of large trees, some that are 10 to 14 feet tall. They specialize in Fraser fir, Canaan fir, and balsam fir trees, and also have a small selection of wreaths available for sale. Long-time customers return to Geannelis Tree Farm again and again, many from the Capital Region, Long Island, and New Jersey, but some from as far away as Kentucky and Maryland.
Most of the trees at the Geannelis Tree Farm stand on West Road are pre-cut and ready to bring home, but they also have cut-your-own available. Just ask! Trees are $50 and up, depending on the size.

Pleasant Valley Tree Farm: Bennington, Vermont

Pleasant Valley Tree Farm grows more than 30,000 trees on 30 acres and has been in the family for over a hundred years. It began as a dairy and poultry farm but switched to trees in the early 1950s.
Visitors are welcome to come out and choose a pre-cut tree or cut one themselves. Trees under 10 feet are $55, and those over 10 feet are $70. They provide a tree retrieving service from the fields and wrap the tree at no extra cost. Pre-cut trees are available and range from $5 to over $100.
In addition to the large selection of balsam and Fraser firs, Pleasant Valley Tree Farm offers a large selection of natural decor in their holiday gift barn, including wreaths, boughs, potted trees, kissing balls, and maple syrup.

Mattison’s Christmas Tree Farm: Shaftsbury, Vermont

Based on the age of Rick Mattison’s oldest tractor, the family-run Mattison’s Christmas tree farm has been in operation for at least 35 years. The family started with a variety of trees — pines, spruces, and firs, but according to Rick, “Mother Nature has convinced us to stick with balsam firs, which grow the best here.” Folks head to Mattison’s Christmas Tree Farm to make memories cutting their own tree. Those who don’t want to wield a saw can pick a pre-cut tree off the rack to take home and decorate.
Mattison’s Christmas Tree Farm is open every day from now until Christmas. Trees are $45 and come in a variety of sizes. The farm also does a bustling wholesale business, hauling fresh-cut trees from Vermont to New Jersey, and making trees available to local nonprofit organizations for fundraising purposes.

SpringFed Tree Farm: Bennington, Vermont
SpringFed Tree Farm is a small Christmas tree farm on Morgan Street in Bennington, with more than 5,000 balsam fir, Fraser fir, and Meyer spruce trees, from seedlings to trees more than 20 feet tall. The farm has been selling gorgeous Christmas trees to locals and visitors for more than 25 years. They also sell hand-crafted wreaths of varying sizes. Prices vary depending on size.

Mt. Anthony Tree Farms: North Pownal, Vermont

Mt. Anthony Tree Farms grows Fraser and balsam fir trees on what was formerly Rudd’s Tree Farm in North Pownal. This dog-friendly farm is open on the weekends for cut-your-own Christmas trees and pre-cut trees. Trees are primarily six to nine feet tall. Cut-your-own trees are a flat rate of $50 plus tax. Pre-cut trees are $30 and up, depending on quality.
